The Tudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services Ltd

The Tudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services Ltd was registered On 29.04.1955 and started functioning from 05.05.1955 with a membership of 397 and a share capital of Rs.0.33 lakhs. At present, the society is functioning with 7105 member farmers from Tudiyalur area with a share capital of Rs.156.04 lakhs.

The authorized share capital is Rs.200.00 lakh.TUCAS owns Assets worth Rs.627.74 lakh as land and building, plant and machinery, furniture and fixtures, vehicles, godowns and buildings.

Deposit and Loan Division

TUCAS is issuing loans to its farmer members including jewel loan through the following 10 branches with a loan balance of Rs.163.04 Crore and deposit balance of Rs.169.92 Crore.

MANAGEMENT OF THE SOCIETY

The society is managed by the Board of Directors elected among the members of the society and a managing director appointed by the government of Tamilnadu.

PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF QUALITY SEEDS:

To supply quality seeds to the farmers at a competitive& price with& assured Genetic purity and germination percentage, The Seed Multiplication Scheme was started in the year 1978. Paddy and Cotton seeds are produced and Vegetable seeds are being marketed.

Breeder seeds from the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore& and the Foundation seeds from the Agricultural Department are procured and supplied to selected seed farm growers. From sowing to harvesting the entire operation is supervised by field staff. The Field opted under Seed Certification are periodically inspected by the Seed Certification Department and guidance is given for production of Quality Seeds.

A premium of 10% to 15% over and above the market price is paid to the Seed Farmers as incentive. The harvested crop procured from the Seed Farm Growers is scientifically processed under our direct supervision. After analytical laboratory testing of the germination and genetic purity, the DIRECTORATE OF SEED CERTIFICATION, seeds are distributed to the farmers for further propagation.

SUPPLY OF FERTILISERS

`TUCAS' Produces standard Manure Mixture Nos. 2,2a,3,4,5,7,9,10,12,14,16,18, 23,25,26 & 27 to suit all crops. The farmers in tamilnadu are very famous among our manure mixtures which yield better results due to the crop wise usages we are supplying our manure mixture to the cooperative institutions and direct to the farmers only. For the year 2022-23 we are produced 6543 mts which are the highest production and this create a record.

MANURE MIXTURE UNIT

Supply of Agriculture Implements;

To mechanize the farming operations in this area the `CARE' (COOPERATIVE FOR AMERICAN RELIEF EVERYWHERE) donated 5 Tractors with matching implements in the year 1970. From then onwards, the farmers of this area are provided with Tractors with matching implements for their ploughing operations at a nominal hire charges. This is provided to farmers / members for their Ploughing works. Now there are 4 Tractors with Rotavator and Shredder Attached Tractors.

Further, the institution has established an Agro Tools Industry for fabrication of Farm implements. The following implements are being fabricated and supplied to the farmers throughout the State.

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University provides latest farm implements to TUCAS.

Printing Press

TUCAS Printing press prints all lables and tags of TUCAS pesticides and Kovai Seeds products. All kinds Binding and Printing Works including bank passbooks, vouchers, Ledgers, Receipts are done.

Petrol Bunk

Petrol Bunk caters to the fuel needs of the farmer / members / public and tractor section. A Bunk sales Rs.184.85 Lakhs per month approximately is made in petrol Bunks.

Retail section

TUCAS has its own retail outlet for sales of Manure, Pesticides, Seeds, Agricultural implements, Oil Neem cake and Micro Nutrient Mixture.

Aavin Parlour:

TUCAS forayed into sales of Aavin products like Milk, Curd, Butter, Ghee ,Sweets etc. Daily sales volume is Rs.20,000/- per Day.

NEERA AND CHEKKU GROUNDNUT OIL:

In order to develop the farmers standard of living, NEERA from the coconut growers / farmers are procured and sold to the public without any profit motive.

ASOKA BRAND NEEM CAKE POWDER

For the first time TUCAS has ventured into production of neem cake powder in the brand name of Asoka. Neem cake is produced by crushing the dry neem fruits with pulvarizer. This product is pure and is very popular among the farmers. An average of 500 mts was sold in the initial years.

MICRO NUTRIENT MIXTURE:

In 2019 the ASOKA brand Micro Nutrient Mixture unit was produced by TUCAS. The Micro Nutrients like Zinc , Ferrous, Magnesium, Copper , Manganese and Boron control the viral diseases of Plants and increase the yield of the crops. These Nutrients of Bassel application and enrich the Soil condition and improve the stability of the crops.

On a trial basis its application was used in Coconut, Banana and Paddy cultivation.

In the year 1980, the institution celebrated its “SILVER JUBILEE”. The then President of India His Excellency NEELAM SANJIVA REDDY graced the occasion. TUCAS was awarded the best working Cooperative Institution for the last Twenty Four years since 1998 by the Government of Tamilnadu. TUCAS was also awarded best performing institution in the field of development of Disabled and Poverty Alleviation to the weaker section of the Society on the occasion of Independence Day Celebration dated 15th August, 2005 by the District Collector, Coimbatore for the year 2004-2005.

TUCAS installed a touch screen enabled Agricultural portal Kiosk donated by IFFCO (INDIAN FARMERS FERTILIZERS COOPERATIVE) which provides vital information on 136 varieties of Crops, Market price of agricultural commodities, method of plant protection, land reformation, rainfall etc., for the benefit of the farmers. The Institution is working on profit from its very inception.
